3D Drafter/Content Creator (Navy/DoD)
About the position THOR Solutions is seeking a 3D Drafter/Content Creator to support the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) group at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. The role involves creating 3D models and 2D CAD drawings, developing digital training media for Air Cushion Vehicles, and collaborating with a diverse team to produce technical documentation and interactive animations. Responsibilities • Work in 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting (CAD) using SOLIDWORKS or other 3D modeling software. • Assist with interactive video development using 3D modeling techniques. • Develop detailed technical documentation including 2D Technical Drawings. • Create interactive 3D Animation/Video for training purposes. • Collaborate with an integrated product team, including technical and non-technical teammates. Requirements • Technical diploma, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in a drafting or design discipline. • At least three years of recent, relevant professional experience with 3D modeling and drafting. • Strong proficiency with SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D modeling tools. • Experience in hardware design, development, model-based definition (MBD), prototyping, and integration of electromechanical systems. • Knowledge of ASME Y14 standards and GD&T certification is preferred. • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat. • Strong communication skills. Nice-to-haves • Experience in a US Navy, Coast Guard, or DOD environment is highly preferred. • Experience with SOLIDWORKS PDM administration and SOLIDWORKS Composer. • Ready Relevant Learning Development.
