This unique Sr. Payroll & Benefits Analyst position offers an exciting opportunity to be a key voice in shaping the future of the joint venture between UHC and Warburg Pincus, an exciting new partnership that will become an independent company.

This position focuses on providing overall support to employees and leaders in the areas of payroll, benefits, compensation, and HRIS system administration. Reports to Sr. Director, People Team.

The Sr. Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be a key point of contact, for all HRIS administration (ADP), ensuring accurate payroll processing and benefits administration for our employees. This role is a liaison between the company and the PEO (ADP) for payroll and benefits. This role brings a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and ensures the seamless operation of these critical functions.

Primary Responsibilities: ? Manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, benefits deductions, garnishments, and taxes, ensuring compliance with multi-state payroll regulations ? Reviews and updates time and attendance data, employee changes, and other employee maintenance in the human resources information system (HRIS) ? Works closely with leaders to interpret policies and procedures related to payroll/benefits management; regularly communicates requirements for payroll/benefits administration compliance ? Troubleshoots payroll, benefits and leave issues using knowledge and experience to ensure appropriate, legal outcomes ? Verifies and updates state unemployment tax rates; works with state entities to set up new states in the payroll system including submission of registration forms and communications with payroll vendor ? Reviews payroll records for accuracy, analyzes data and prepares reports based on analysis as required. Maintains payroll records in accordance with recordkeeping requirements ? Prepares and files quarterly and annual payroll and tax reports, including voluntary deduction reports; works with the Finance and Accounting team to reconcile tax reports as required ? Processes involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, ensuring the proper amounts are deducted and distributed to the designated recipients ? Ensures payroll records reflect accurate benefit enrollments and employee deductions ? Acts as the primary contact for questions regarding the time and attendance system and for troubleshooting technical issues ? Stays current on related payroll administration trends and best-practice approaches and methodologies ? Processes enrollments and changes for all employee health and welfare benefits. ? Reviews and reconciles benefit statements and coordinates with the Finance and Accounting team for payment of premiums; provides analysis on cost trending, participation, etc. ? Serves as the primary liaison for employee benefits with benefit plan carriers, providers, brokers, and regulatory agencies as required ? Responds to employee questions and issues regarding benefit programs, including 401(k) and disability insurance; works with carriers, providers, and brokers to resolve issues ? Generates reports; researches questions and issues; conducts employee benefit surveys as assigned; and provides information to carriers, providers, brokers, and leadership as requested ? Directs the preparation and regular distribution of informational literature and verbal presentations to notify and advise employees of eligibility for benefits programs ? Coordinates and participates in benefits open enrollment ? Processes and responds to all Employment Verifications ? Works closely with benefit brokers and Human Resources leadership to analyze company benefits policies, laws concerning mandatory insurance coverage, and data concerning prevailing practices among similar organizations to establish competitive benefits programs ? Stays updated on current employee benefit and perquisite trends and makes recommendations for changes and additions to current benefit programs ? Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: ? 5+ years of proven experience in payroll and benefits administration. ? Experience managing payroll, benefits, and leave programs in a multi-state environment ? Experience working with a PEO (preferably ADP) ? Experience administering employee benefits programs and leave policies ? Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local wage and hour laws ? Solid understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and regulations ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems ? Proven ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism ? Proven high attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications: ? PHR/SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification ? Experience working in a remote, multi-state environment ? All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group?s Telecommuter Policy

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
