Lab Processing Tech Associate III ? Evenings

About the position Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) is now hiring a skilled/experienced Full-Time Lab Associate III for our Processing and Customer Service departments on Evening Shift. This position involves general lab processing and customer service in the lab pre-analytic departments, where you will receive, process, and distribute laboratory specimens, including storage, packaging, and shipping of specimens. You will also provide results to caregivers. This is an in-office position (non-remote) with a shift from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM, working 4 days a week with rotating weekends and holidays. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered for this role. Responsibilities • Perform waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency. • Conduct sweat chloride collections and EKG's under supervision. • Sort and process routine and specific high-level specimens received by the lab, including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). • Ensure correct processing and packaging for esoteric send-out tests. • Coordinate a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload. • Prioritize work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. • Manage inventory, equipment cleaning, and maintenance. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED. • 2-5 years of lab experience. • Strong communication skills. • Experience in call center and/or phone customer service. • Proficient in various computer systems and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting. Nice-to-haves • Associate's Degree. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Experience as a Clinical or Medical Laboratory Assistant (CLA), MLA, Processing Technician, Laboratory Tech, Lab Assistant, Pre-Analytical Assistant, Lab Support Representative, Specimen Processing, or Customer Service Rep (CSR).
