About the Role: Production Operator 1 - Packaging We're looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Production Operator 1 - Packaging to ensure the efficient operation of our packaging line. As a key member of our production team, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of case forming, case packing, labeling, and other downstream equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with maintenance personnel to resolve problems. Quality Control: Conduct package quality checks to ensure compliance with our quality standards. Identify and report any defects or issues to your supervisor. Material Management: Ensure that equipment is supplied with the required materials, such as adhesives, shrink wrap, and labels. Safety and Compliance: Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure compliance with GMP standards. Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records and logs as required. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance personnel, line personnel, and management to problem-solve and optimize production efficiencies. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and correct machinery or quality problems. Setup and Changeover: Set up and changeover equipment to different package sizes or case codes. Labeling and Organization: Properly label all containers used in your work area. Requirements and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you'll need: Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: Working knowledge of production environments and machinery. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English. Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot production-related problems and follow directions. Attendance: Demonstrated good attendance record. Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, manual and finger dexterity, and ability to work on all shifts. Flexibility: Ability to work up to twelve (12) hour shifts, extended hours, and overtime as required. Sensory Abilities: Ability to visually identify material and product defects, and hear machine operations sounds to detect jams, changes in speed, and other routine running conditions. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: We prefer candidates with: Production Experience: Previous experience in a production environment, preferably in packaging or a related field. Equipment Operation: Familiarity with operating packaging equipment, such as case formers, packers, and labelers. Quality Control: Knowledge of quality control principles and practices. Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing production demands and priorities.
