About the position The Part Time Social Media Crisis Intervention Specialist at Lines for Life is responsible for monitoring social media platforms for posts from youth that indicate suicidality, self-harm risks, and severe mental health struggles. This role involves providing empathetic support, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure effective crisis intervention. The specialist will also analyze data trends related to youth interactions and contribute to program development and training materials. Responsibilities • Monitor social media posts of youth for suicidal ideation and self-harm risks. • Provide empathetic support and compassionate listening to youth in crisis via direct messages. • Communicate interventions with Lines for Life's internal YouthLine team members. • Consult with YouthLine supervisory and clinical leadership for support in crisis situations. • Prepare accurate and timely reports on social media conversations and interventions. • Collect and analyze data related to youth interactions on social media to identify trends. • Regularly update data collection tools and evaluate outcomes of contacts through risk and safety matrices. • Engage in program development through special projects and research. • Integrate AI technology into protocols and reporting. • Identify additional social media platforms for youth support. • Complete YouthLine projects as agreed with supervisor. • Attend mandatory trainings to stay updated on best practices. • Participate in individual supervision and team meetings.
