UP TO $10,000 SIGN ON FOR QUALIFIED LPN CANDIDATES* The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works collaboratively to provide direct and indirect patient care in the ambulatory setting. The LPN provides nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of the physician or Registered Nurse (RN) accepts delegation to meet the needs of the patient. The LPN provides nursing care in accordance with the policies and procedures of Monument Health, standards of the profession and in accordance with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and/or accreting agencies. Flexible scheduling Job Description Essential Functions: ? Prepares the examination and treatment spaces correctly based on clinic protocols. ? Participates in pre-visit planning to ensure effective patient care and readies exam and treatment spaces according to clinic regulations. ? Completes the process of rooming patients by recording vital signs, collecting information, and addressing clinic-specific aspects. ? Consistently adheres to best practices and clinic policies while administering and documenting medications accurately. ? Performs nursing procedures and treatments according to the Scope of Responsibilities, adhering to the specific standards of the nursing department and clinic. ? Manifests the ability to accurately conduct assessments, implement clinical interventions, assess outcomes, and modify the plan of care in collaboration with an RN or healthcare provider. ? Dispense pre-approved patient educational resources. Reiterate the health education and discharge guidance provided by the RN or healthcare provider, advising patients to consult with them for any additional information or clarification. ? Carries out standalone nurse consultations within the bounds of department policy and with the necessary oversight. ? Support in inbox management and the processing of patient referrals and authorizations adhering to the designated procedures and scope of duties. ? Takes part in orienting and mentoring clinical staff members as stipulated and as needed. ? Demonstrates a commitment to the department's growth by participating in meetings, committees, and continuous learning opportunities. ? Guarantees that documentation within the patient record is both clear and accurate as per the designated Scope of Responsibilities. ? Duties beyond the regular job requirements. Additional Requirements Required: Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility Certification - Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer. Any Medial Assistant hired between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2024 may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification. Any Medical Assistant hired after July 1, 2024 must hold one of the following national certifications upon hire: ? American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) ? American Medical Technologists (AMT) ? National Healthcareer Association (NHA) ? National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) ? American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire.
