Senior Manager, Platform Security (REMOTE)

GEICO is seeking a Platform Security Leader to provide strategic and technical direction for securing our compute, collaboration, and cloud environments. In this role, you will proactively drive and lead security detection and prevention strategies across all definitions of endpoints?from BYOD mobile devices and laptops to production servers and containerized compute. You will validate and enhance security controls across messaging platforms and data loss prevention technologies, ensuring strong collaboration security. Additionally, you will shape the security of our cloud-native infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments, enabling a resilient and scalable security posture. This is a highly technical role where you will leverage your deep expertise in compute, collaboration, and cloud security to lead teams and team members in architecture, design, and implementation of secure solutions that align with our business goals. Your ability to balance security and usability will be critical, enabling effective protection without introducing unnecessary friction. You will work with enterprise business partners and Cyber Security peers to innovate and lead new initiatives to improve security, enhance existing systems while also identifying new opportunities with an offensive security mindset to find critical problems and solve at a rapid pace. You will drive confirmation our systems are protected through automated testing and continuous improvement to raise the bar and foster a proactive security culture which also enables the business. As a Platform Security Leader, you will:?Define strategic roadmaps for securing endpoints with purposeful and functional security without impacting or unnecessary overhead. Extend traditional messaging security mindset into full collaboration space including conferencing, chat systems and other solutions. Grow an engineering focused team to manage security tooling through automation and remove manual Drive standardization and consistency of user experience across user platforms regardless of on-site or on-premises. Influence and educate leadership at all levels to bring a security minded approach to difficult challenges balancing usability and security. Collaborate with product managers, engineering leaders, endpoint and compute leaders and other security teams to solve complex problems with across cloud, compute and collaboration systems. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance security measures, streamline processes, and optimize tooling to fortify our environment against emerging threats. Develop and implement technology, policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations and frameworks. Provide impactful demonstrations and communicate the value of our security measures to the business, highlighting the positive impact on efficiency, customer trust, and overall success. Work with our business partners to help prioritize and validate the urgency of mitigation of identified threats and/or non-compliance. Work in lockstep with our CSIRT teams to ensure protection coverages, proper detection event notifications, documentation and standards we can all use. Qualifications: Proven experience as a technical leader, with a track record of building, mentoring, and managing highly skilled security teams while fostering a growth mindset and a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Deep technical expertise in public and private cloud compute infrastructure and cloud native technologies along with implementing controls for endpoints, production compute, and collaboration/messaging security. Extensive experience in building, deploying and managing security tooling in both an end-user and a service provider production environment. Previous successful projects that iteratively transitioned legacy security models to next generation solutions in a leadership role. Experience communicating and presentation to senior leaders with the ability to influence stakeholders. Strong background with common endpoint security tooling such as EDR, EPM, FIM, DLP, SWG, UAC, APPC from top vendors or active open-source projects. Demonstratable proficiency in a multi-platform environment with Linux, Mac, Windows. Experience in offensive and defensive security roles, with a strong hacker approach to guiding security decisions. Strong knowledge of industry-standard security tools, frameworks, and best practices including MITRE, CIS and NIST. Experience working with auditors and demonstrating security controls. Experience: 5+ years in a dedicated security role, preferably in the tech industry. 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud providers. 3+ years in a leadership role influencing company direction on security. 3+ years of designing and managing modern security solutions, either building or leveraging top partners (CrowdStrike, Sentinel One, MS, Palo, Wiz, ?). 3+ years of experience in device management related system management technology solutions (Intune, Ansible, osquery, JAMF, ?). Hands-on experience in configuring and maturing a data loss prevention (DLP) system. Experience applying security controls to exceed third party attestation requirements (PCI, SOC, ?). Annual Salary $150,000.00 - $300,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
